Oh, I'm just going to say it - I love Louis Dog. The designs are generally adorable. We love the matchy-matchy designs they come up with, and particularly love it when one of the "matchies" is a dress. Because come on - a dress? Matching a bed? How cute is that?
I can say I love Louis Dog because I've reviewed a ton of their stuff over the years: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So when I say I love these designs and they're just amazing quality, you know I really mean it.
This month, we were lucky enough to review another matched set, sent in by our friends at The Ritzy Rover - a Shou Shou dog bed in pink, and the matching Pink Doll Dress for dogs. Both are part of the Spring 2007 collection.
The Pink Doll Dress is just an adorable dog dress. Made from a stretchy pink cotton/spandex combination, it's an open style dress (the skirt doesn't go around 360 degrees) with a tank top and snaps down the front. The material is stretchy enough, however, that a well-fitted dress won't need to be unsnapped to put on - it can go right over the head. Two rows of soft pink gathered lace run down the center of the dress and also adorn the bottom of the skirt. A tiny black polka dot bow sits off center at the edge of the bodice.
The fit is super - if anything, a bit roomy around the chest. Good for pudgier pups or broad-chested breeds; you may want to consider going down a size if your pet is very narrow chested or skinny. Hand wash only, sadly, but it's a dress - what did I expect? Workmanship is super, as with all Louis Dog products. This would be a great choice for summer days, as long as it's not too hot.
The matching Shou Shou bed is without a doubt one of the cutest beds we've reviewed so far this year. Hexagonal with a big bumper running around it, it's a super bed to lounge on and won't wear just in one place since it can be turned around, each side lounged upon interchangeably.
Ultra buttery soft fabric is used for the entire upper bed - the pillows, the bumpers - so that your dog can lay on her bed in luxurious comfort. We loved the polka dot shirring on the outside and the tiny black polka dot bow accents at each corner - how girly! How poofy! Do they make these in adult sizes?
Seriously, do they? :)
The cushion is removable and the bed can be washed in cold water on the delicate cycle. I'd suggest letting this air dry.
And the pug - how did the world's most pampered princess pug feel about the set? Well, darling, can't you just tell? Wrapped in luxurious fabric, lounging against equally luxurious fabric - it was all we could do to keep her head up for pictures, she kept wanting to stretch out and "vogue" for the camera. She loves Louis Dog. And she really loves the attention she gets when she's wearing and/or lounging on Louis Dog.
Such a ham. Honestly.
We can't say enough good things about these fabulous designs. Great workmanship, great design, and pink! And polka dots! Hello? Know what we mean?
Thanks to the folks at The Ritzy Rover for once again giving us the first scoop on this delicious set!
