Shakespeare dog film
What's done is done. Or so Lady Macbeth thought. The idea for the Dog Film Company's, Shakespaws, first came to creator/NYC actor, Seamus Mulcahy, while dog-sitting as a day job. Why not create a cheeky film that's nurturing and visually stimulating for dogs and entertaining for dog lovers, as well? Hence, Shakespaws was born, a film for dogs BY dogs displaying their acting chops in Shakespearean adaptations donning full regalia. The adorable film casts a wide variety of breeds--big and small--appealing to the gamut of furry, frenzied fans. Check out the "Meet the Stars" section of the website--the cast includes several red carpet-worthy pooches with some impressive film credits to their names. What's more, Mulcahy has found that the film captivates kids and serves as a great first-exposure to Shakespearean verse. Seems like that "winter of discontent" could be over.

Urban chic doggie bed
You can vividly picture it in your head: a trendy SOHO loft with gritty, exposed ceiling pipes and cement floors, blindingly stylish white walls, and minimal, expertly-placed Mid-century mod furnishings scattered about the wide-open space. And next to the Eames, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, and Noguchi is a perfectly coordinated pet bed that solidifies your pup's own downtown status. Molly Mutt's new "Big City Life" is the latest addition to their collection of stylish pet bed duvets. It features a chic illustrated cityscape hand-screened on a rich chocolate brown backdrop. It oozes urban-cool in any room of the abode and your little sidekick-sophisticate will feel right at home. As with all of Molly Mutt's eco-friendly duvets, stuff the Big City Life with an old, recycled dog bed or unused blankets and clothes you have lying around the house organized within their optional "stuff sack." MM duvets are made of 100%, durable, washable, pre-shrunk cotton and they are fully-gusseted for extra style and comfort. Available sizes include: small (22" x 27" x 5"), medium/large (27" x 36" x 5"), and huge (36" x 45" x 5").

Stylish dog bed
When designer Casey Rae decided to start a pet beds collection, she was facing the same dilemmas many pet owners do. You know the scenario well--frantically scrambling around the house trying to find a place to stash the pet bed before your guests arrive. But Rae had a "thought bubble": what if you didn't HAVE to hide it? In comes Bougie Beds, Rae's unique, stylish pet bed repertoire made from lush, durable furniture-quality fabrics that brilliantly coordinate with a variety of home decor tastes. Case in point, the elaborately delicious Constantine Throne that has all the pomp and circumstance straight out of the Gilded Age. Your little king or queen will wallow on thick chenille and jacquard fabrics in royal hues, accented in gold dupioni silk. And the beds aren't just designed for eye-candy, they're functional, too. The bottom cushion is made from beefy foam for ultimate comfort and the cover is removable for machine washing. There is also a hidden zipper that enables you to take off the rest of the surrounding bed fabric for dry cleaning. Sizes run small (20"), medium (30"), large (35"), and x-large (45"). Your Highness, the royal bed awaits (scepter and crown not included).

Canine genealogy kit
Knowing the breeds in your dog's ancestry can be a key ingredient in making sure your precious one maintains a long, happy and healthy life. What was once a difficult or even impossible feat--especially in cases of rescue or adoption--is now as simple as a cotton swab and a stamp. The Canine Genealogy Kit from Hammacher and Schlemmer analyzes your dog's DNA, identifies the breeds, and provides scientific confirmation of the physical characteristics, behavioral tendencies, personality traits, and potential health risks your dog has inherited. All you have to do is rub a cotton swab inside your dog's cheek, send it to the professional lab in the provided envelope, and the lab tests and compares the unique sequences in your canine's genome with DNA markers from a database of thousands of purebred dogs. The DNA test recognizes 63 different breeds (93% of the most common breeds in the U.S.) that can make up your pet's genetic profile. Within about three weeks, you'll receive a certificate listing your dog's ancestry and a detailed explanation of each breed's dominant characteristics that likely have been passed on to your dog. Gotta love modern technology!

Pet hair broom
Hair ye, hair ye. We love our furry friends. But that's just it, they're well, furry. And keeping floors and rugs pet hair free can be a daunting daily ritual. Frankly, breaking out the bulky purple Dyson (though a miracle worker) on a daily basis is a real pain in the "tail." Bissell's light and airy but tough-enough pet hair broom saves the day. Bissell thought of everything when designing this pet-hair wonder. We think the most ingenious feature is the flexible rubber bristles that literally attract pet hair like a magnet. The broom works on both bare floors and rugs and is angled to tackle corners. The handle adjusts to three heights and includes a soft, nonslip grip for comfort and to prevent slippage when leaned against walls. The broom head's soft bumper protects furniture and its lean profile stows away in a snap. Its pearl and orange color scheme is even kinda groovy, to boot. A no-brainer in our book.

Juicy Couture dog sweater & leg warmer set *
* This is a paid sponsored post.
Were you a child of the 80's? Us, too. Ah, the golden days when Michael Jackson wasn't a memorial (RIP Michael -- we love you!), neon was considered a real clothing color, Max Headroom was the coolest thing ever and Flashdance made us swoon. And tied up with all of that was a love of the leg warmer. Come on, admit it - you had a pair or two, too. Well, it's nearly the end of the 00's and the 80's are all the rage again (SO glad we kept our Rubik's Cubes) and that includes the gorgeous House of Juicy (Juicy Couture) Dog Sweater and Leg Warmer set at Funny Fur. The set comes in three rockin' colors - brown and pink, silver and pink or black and grey. The dog sweater is turtleneck style with striped colors running down the back and "House of Juicy" emblazoned on the back in Juicy's signature gothic typeface, and the wee legwarmers (SO cute) are striped, too, with matching colors (four to a set, natch). The set comes packaged in a book-type Juicy Couture gift box which makes it a perfect Christmas gift for dogs. Flashdance DVD not included!
