Expose on dogs and men

Have you ever wondered why some male was sniffing at a dog's backside? How To Understand Men Through Their Dogs might be just the book for you! Author Wendy Diamond, a gem of a writer, explains just why certain men have certain dogs, and what you can do about it (stay away, for example, from the men who aren't housebroken). Marilena Perilli has provided illustrations of men and dogs; we don't quite know why, but the dogs invariably look more loyal. A companion book by Wendy Diamond should make just the stocking stuffer for your male companion; How To Understand Women Through Their Cats.
Doggie Halloween book

One of our friends is planning to dress his dog up as Michael Vick for Halloween. Then too, we know somebody with a poodle who is going to disguise it as a Bichon Frise. That's not to mention that we know some nasty women out there who wouldn't have to dress up at all for people to recognize them as another word for a female dog, if you take our meaning. But here is Archie Klondike with his book Dog Trick or Cat Treat, showing animal companions dressed to their nine lives for October 31. We admit we could have done with a few less cats in the book --- and we're not sure why in the title the word trick got assigned to dogs. Still, this volume is like candy for any animal lover this Halloween. Reading it, you're guaranteed not to say "Booooo!"
French bullldog photo book by Montrose
We can't get enough of Sharon Montrose's up close and personal style. Maybe that's why we'll be adding this new book (the photographer's eighth) to our collection. The gifted artist has already focused her camera on Labs, Dachshunds and Chihuahuas, now she turns her lens to the lovable French bulldog. Titled: French Bulldogs; Lightweight Littermates the photo book is packed with super-sweet shots. Thanks to their tea-saucer eyes and expressive faces, these little fur balls of love make perfect subjects. Montrose focuses on their diminutive size and their joie de vivre--ensuring this book will steal your heart and may inspire another four-legged household member.

Dog book for frustrated singles
We've always known that dogs are our best friends. Now there's a new book highlighting the reasons why furry companions are far superior to romantic partners. Dump Him Marry the Dog!: Why a Dog is a Better Match than a Man by Vivian Heath takes a lighthearted look at out most intimate canine and human relationships. In Heath's opinion, dogs are the clear winners: For example, dogs won't steal the blankets or the remote and they offer a ubiquitous supply of kisses. We love the accompanying color photos and will be sure to give this book the next time we try to console a lovesick friend. It's just the thing to put a smile on an otherwise distraught face.

Manners book for dogs

Charlotte Reed is the lovely, animal-loving cosmopolite and high society expert known as Miss Fido Manners. The Miss Fido Manners Complete Book of Dog Etiquette is a must read for all K-9 enthusiasts, whether they have that invite to din-din at Buckingham Palace yet or not. If you don't read this book and follow its advice, then don't come crying to us when her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II looks down her nose at you after your animal companion does something unseemly to one of her Corgis. As David Frei, co-host of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show has said: "There are no bad dogs, only bad owners."
