Travel Thursday: Pet friendly hotels and what to ask before booking

Traveling with your pet can be a great experience, especially if you plan out everything until the last detail so that there wouldn’t be any surprises once you reach the chosen destination.

There are many per friendly hotels all over the world. More and more hotels are becoming per friendly. But it not only hotels that accept pets nowadays but as well restaurants and other public places. Some places will allow not only dogs but as well other types of animals.

In order to make a wonderful experience from your holiday travel, both for you and your dog, here are some things you should be aware of and check out in time, so that everything goes as planned since the very start of your holidays.

When booking at a pet friendly hotel, you should definitely as whether they have size or breed restrictions. For example, some pet friendly hotels allow only small dog breeds, not the bigger breeds however. From the other side, some hotels allow any dog breed, so make sure to check out whether your dog is allowed in the hotel before you place any deposit and make a reservation.

Another thing that you should ask is whether there are additional fees as cleaning charges or maybe refundable damage deposits. Some pet friendly hotels will require such additional fees.

Next, as all dogs like to go out for a walk, make sure to check out whether there are any places nearby to walk the dog. It can be some park, or just a simple grass area where your dog can his thing when in need. Also, some hotels will offer dog walkers/sitters, but if not, make sure to check out whether there are some in the area, that you can hire.

Of course, it is very important that you know whether the hotel gives dog beds, crates and food bowls. If not, you will have to take your own.
