How many times happened to you that when traveling by plane you start wondering whether the plane company will start making problems because of your pet and therefore stop you from getting on board.

The truth is that your dog, if is not too big, can go in the cabin with you, while staying in the crate. This is very useful information for those who didn’t know it, and who were constantly worrying whether their pet will be safe in the back of the plane.

Some of the airlines that will let you take your dog to the cabin are – Pet Airways, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Continental Airlines, Southwest Airlines, etc. What you have to do? It is actually very simple. While passing by the security on the airport, you need to approach the security scanner, put the crate of the dog to pass the x-ray scan, and carry your dog with you. Don’t forget to take of his leash or ID tag, as they will set off the alarm.

Here are some of the rules that the mentioned airlines are asking the pet owners to stick to – one pet carrier per passenger, if the dogs are small it can be 2 dogs per a carrier, the carrier together with the pet cannot weight more than 20 pounds, the size of the carrier cannot be bigger than 19 x 13 x 9 inches.

Of course, during all the flight, your dog will need to remain in the carrier. You are not allowed to take him out and put on the seat.

Here are some other things that you should keep on mind in order to make your flight more enjoyable and much easier – make a reservation for the dog in the plane cabin, don’t forget the dogs health certificate, don’t forget your dogs favorite toys to keep him busy.
