From the day the princess pug set foot out into the world, she has wanted to be famous. And she got her wish - she lives a life of fame and luxury that few pugs ever get to experience. But the one thing she's always wanted, the one thing she has yet to be rewarded with, is her own star on that famous Hollywood strip.
(It's okay. We know she'll get there eventually.)
Now, however, she has the next best thing - her very own Hollywood Bark of Fame dog bed. Made by the brilliant folks at Pawsitively Posh (of the Fab Imperial Dog Bed, Slipper Bed and Butterfly Bed fame), this bed is just as close as your pet will ever get to the real thing - or better, since they can lounge all day on this version.
The design is, in a word, fabulous. They've cleverly used a black speckled Sherpa fleece to simulate the granite, a soft and cuddly pink polar fleece for the star, and a to-die-for gold lame for the piping and the famed circle in the center. The words "Precious Pup" are piped in Gold on the star, announcing to the world that your little star is just too precious for words - which, of course, they are.
The bottom is a simple black cotton and the cushion is filled with mounds of soft foam (no hard foam here, as the company says), cushy and thick enough to please all but the pickiest of pets. The cover zips off and is machine washable; lay flat to dry.
As with all the products we've reviewed from this company, the workmanship is nothing short of stellar. You always get the sense that such care went into every step of its creation, from design, to fabric choice, to final execution. It's like putting someone in charge of your pet's comfort who loves them almost as much as you do.
Merry loved this bed from the first moment she set eyes on it - it's cushy, covered with deliciously soft materials, and, in case you hadn't noticed, is the perfect design of all time for this most famous of princess pugs. We loved not only the design (brilliant - did we already mention this? Brilliant. Seriously.) but the fact that it would work so well for either boy or girl dogs, despite the pink. It's just not an overly girly or boyish bed, making it perfect particularly for homes where you have mixed doggie genders.
We've been in love with Pawsitively Posh's designs for years, and we have to admit that this bed has placed us in a terrible quandary - though the Fab Imperial Bed has been our favorite for years, this bed nearly overtook the egg in our hearts, just on sheer cuteness and also comfort. Once again, these folks have hit it out of the park. Our suggestion: snap one up before they sell out, because we have a feeling they're going to go quickly.
If a product could get five paws up, this one would qualify. Fantastic!
