But it's an awkward situation. Nobody wants to think about picking up the poop. I mean, we all do it. Pick up the poop. Every single day. But it's kind of unpleasant. You don't want to have to think about it too much.
Still.
I don't know about you, but I've always felt guilty tossing out three or four bags every single day. I mean, these are plastic bags - the things we're taught to reuse, recycle... not throw in the garbage. But that's exactly what I do every day.
Honestly, it was kind of a relief when Merry and I received a package of poop bags from Oops I Pooped.
No, not that kind of relief (grin).
These bags, while hardly a luxury item, do exactly what I need and want a bag to do:
- They're biodegradable, which means they won't be sitting in a landfill forever, just piling up. This was the biggie for me. Way less guilt than with traditional bags. Why would you want to throw away something that will sit in a landfill for the next twenty years or longer?
- They're made 100% from material that is totally environmentally responsible. The residue they leave behind after degrading is beneficial to the environment.
- They're black, so they're opaque and nobody else has to look at what I'm carrying around.
- They've got handle ties (always important).
- They're very lightweight, without seeming flimsy.
What more do you need? I mean, Merry didn't really care about them one way or another, but then again, she's not the one who has to pick up the poop!
I'd buy these bags again in a hot second.
