January Dog Photo Contest Winners
More than 1400 (!) dog photos submitted this month! As always, only ten could win. Amazing photos were submitted this month, telling us that many of you got new cameras from Santa this year! Both our winners and our honorable mentions were phenomenal this month - be sure to stop by and see them.

Maximus's Dad says: “Maximus came to us as a 3 month old puppy back in April 2004. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and is much loved. So much so, that he receives a roast turkey with the trimmings on his birthday every January 19th. He is adored by our two girls and everyone else that comes into contact with him. His pleasures are simple: food and attention. And he gets more than anyone could hope for.”

He is a five year old American Staffordshire terrier Dave loves swimming, hiking in the woods, running and playing with his little sister, but mostly just making someone happy. He is the best friend that a girl could ever ask for. He is my loyal protector, faithful companion, and constant comedian! He never leaves my side. He would do anything for me or die trying. I have never had a better friend than this dog. In spite of his great size, he is the most gentle and loving soul you will ever meet.”

Sadie's Dad says: “Sadie is a beagle and almost 2 years old. She loves going to the dog park and wrestling with her best friend who is a yellow lab named Abby. At home, she loves to lounge on the top of our couch so she can watch the squirrels outside. Her favorite treat is cheese goldfish and whatever we're eating for dinner. She has perfected the art of the "squeeky-otomy" and can remove the fur from a tennis ball in under a minute.”

Miles's Mom says: “Miles is the love of my life. He came into my life six years ago when my sister found him aimlessly roaming around the stables where we rode horses. He was as filthy as they come, hungry for food, and clearly longing for affection. We made every effort to find his home but ultimately found out he had no home and had been abused. I am extremely blessed to have this incredible love hound in my life.”

She was most likely a puppy mill or breeder dog, she has papers. She is a very loving dog. Sometimes naughty ;) but it is hard to stay mad at her for long!”
