|Article Author: Dog Clothing Review - A Merryvaluation|
Oh, my, yes, the pug is a slave to fashion. This is one dog who takes her clothing seriously. And if there's one thing this princess pug likes best, it's finding hip and delightful new clothing.
It's one of the reasons Merry's just so in love with Pooch Outfitters. Ever since we received their to-die-for package of wicked sweet puppy clothing, the pug has been just all about the folks at Pooch Outfitters, if you know what I mean. Not that she's a name dropper. But, hello!
See, here's the thing. When you've been the ultimate puggy fashionista for four years running, it's likely you've seen it all, done it all, and then some. It's easy to get jaded. But Merry's never tried anything like these outfits before, and she's just loving the whole experience.
First up was the Candy Halter Dress. It's a flirty and fun sundress with a ruffled neckline and flared hem. It's adorned with crystals at the waistline and a raised flower bedecked with ribbons at the shoulder. And hello, it's pink? That's what you might call the princess's signature color. The dress is 95% cotton, with 5% spandex just so it has a bit of give. It's wonderfully form fitting with a cute halter-top look to it. The underbelly has a stretchy gathered elastic so it can accommodate a variety of girths.
The second dress, if possible, was even cuter. The Cherry Sun Dog Dress was a lovely mix of pale pink and light yellow. It's a jersey top dress with crystal appliques (that form a cherry) on the back, and a shiny satin belt is adorned with a crystal-encrusted buckle. The full skirt was made of chiffon-like material with thin strips of pink and yellow running the length of the skirt and was backed by three layers of tulle, which gave it more shape and allowed it to billow out nicely.
Great attention to detail: we loved the little pink ties at the left shoulder, just like a grownups' sundress. (And yes, the ties are functional!)
The final dog outfit we tried out was the Striped Denim Overalls. This lightweight denim would be suitable for spring, summer or warmer fall days. An adorable authentic overall design (complete with the working snaps at the left and right shoulder), this outfit had well designed pants (with a gap at the underbelly to allow for walkies) and a system of five snaps up the belly. It would easily fit a tee underneath it for cooler days, or you could just wear the pants on warmer ones. Bright red stitching, bone imprints and lightning patchwork make this a whimsical set, but the metal buttons and snaps mean business. This is one well designed set of overalls.
Quality of workmanship, fabulous fabrics, and attention to detail are the hallmarks of these products, and we were very impressed with them. Our hope is we'll see more from Pooch Outfitters in the future - we have a feeling that their lovely and high-quality designs will be on the princess's wish list this holiday season!
Four paws up!
