Dog Clothing Review - A Merryvaluation
Most of you know by now that the princess has a signature color (pink) and she owns a sheer mountain of items in her signature color: t-shirts, button-down shirts, polos, sweaters, hoodies, sweatshirts, jogging suits, beds, carriers, collars, necklaces, oh goodness gracious you get the idea.
We have to say, however, that this was Merry's very first dog tutu. (We never knew she had a calling to the ballet.)
Made by Metro Paws, this tutu is just one of an entire line of tutus made specifically for your dog. The style the company sent in for our review was the Hot Pink Classic Pet Tutu.
It's a brilliant pink tutu, with layers and layers of hot pink tulle (including an additional flourish of tulle at the waist, for effect). The waistband itself is wrapped in hot pink satin and has a gap underneath to prevent soiling - also making it much easier to "go" outside, but really, is your princess going to be decked out in a tutu for her usual afternoon walk? We're thinking this is more of a dinnertime tutu, or even better, donned for Sunday afternoon tea!
The tutu usually needs a good deal of "fluffing" before it's ready to wear - and we recommend you separate each layer of tulle before trying it on your pet, to save them from having to stand there and be primped over for long minutes. When it's ready to go, simply slip the tutu over the hind legs (if your dog's not comfortable with this, you can do as we did - put the tutu over the head, slip the legs through, and then settle it around the "waist").
The workmanship is super. Well sewn, this tutu will last a good long time. The elastic is sturdy without cutting into your pet - be sure to properly measure their waist before ordering. Care is hand wash, lay flat to dry. As with shipping, washing will "flatten" the tutu so you'll need to fluff again before your pet can wear it.
We can assure you this: you'll get every reaction from the "aww" to the hysterical laughter when watchiing your pet prance around in this tutu. We were laughing so hard tears were running down our cheeks. This is a dead cute little idea, fabulous for fancy wee ones or Halloween costumes alike.
We loved it! And now, the princess can put on her very own recitals for us!
