I ordered two of these coats for my 15-lb Shih Tzu and 8-lb Yorkie. These coats run a little small in length and width. I would have preferred the coats to be longer in length and width. They sort of sit on top of the dogs back rather than cover the dogs. If you want a full coat for the dog you may want to consider something else. The width was 10.5. To be truly functional I find most coats for my Shih Tzu needs to measure at least 14 in length and 13-14 in width to fit nicely. The 12 was too small for our Yorkie as well. Bottom line: Your dog is going to get really wet with this coat and it'll do little to keep him warm. It's thin, best used as a spring rain coat if it covers your dog. It's a good looking coat, but you may feel a little short changed with this coat. WOOF
